Endorsement Policy and Terms & Conditions

1. General Information

The Emirates Gastroenterology and Hepatology Society (“EGHS”or “the Society”) is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, scientific credibility, and professional ethics. To protect the value of the EGHS name and logo, the Society has established clear criteria and operational procedures for the endorsement of meetings, educational activities, and related initiatives.

EGHS endorsement will be considered only for activities that:

  • Support the mission of EGHS,
  • Advance gastroenterology and hepatology practice, education, and research, and,
  • Comply with the standards set forth in this policy.

EGHS does not endorse organizations as a whole. Endorsement is strictly limited to specific activities or initiatives that meet these requirements.

2. Definition of Endorsement

“Endorsement” means the authorized use of the EGHS name and/or logo by a third party in connection with a meeting, course, symposium, or educational activity that has been formally reviewed and approved by EGHS.

Endorsement is intended to signify EGHS support for the scientific goals of the activity. It does not imply financial support, co-ownership, or continuing medical education (CME) accreditation unless specifically stated.

3. Endorsement Procedure

  1. Submission
    • A  formal written request must be submitted at least 60 days prior to the scheduled date of the activity.
    • The request must include:
      • A duly filled online application form.
      • Draft agenda/program.
      • List of faculty and disclosure of potential conflicts of interest.
      • Information regarding CME or equivalent accreditation (if applicable).
      • List of sponsors, supporters, or co-endorsers (if any)
  2. Review Process
    • EGHS will review the submission for compliance with its mission, conflict-of-interest standards, and scientific integrity requirements.
    • The EGHS Board makes its recommendation within 3 working days from the application date.
  3. Notification
    • Applicants will be notified in writing of the decision.
    • If approved, the applicant will be issued a formal Endorsement Letter outlining the permitted uses of the EGHS name/logo.

4. Requirements for Endorsed Activities

All activities endorsed by EGHS must:

  • Align with the EGHS mission to promote excellence in gastroenterology and hepatology.
  • Be free from commercial bias and ensure independence from industry influence.
  • Require faculty to disclose all relevant financial relationships.
  • Present content that is scientific, evidence-based, and objective.
  • Provide EGHS with the right to review promotional materials, abstracts, or  subsequent publications related to the endorsed activity.
  • Submit  a post-event summary, including attendance figures and participant evaluation results (if applicable).

EGHS will not endorse:

  • Activities already executed or launched.
  • Programs inconsistent with scientific and ethical standards.
  • Events primarily intended as commercial marketing platforms.

5. Fees

  • A non-refundable administrative fee applies to all endorsement requests.
  • The administrative fee is subject to review by the EGHS board at the time of the application.

6. Terms and Conditions of Endorsement

  1. Endorsement is granted for one-time use only and does not extend to recurring activities unless separately approved.
  2. Any modifications to the program after endorsement must be reported to EGHS. Substantial changes may require re-review and may result in withdrawal of     endorsement.
  3. Endorsement may be withdrawn at any time if EGHS determines that the activity no longer meets the required standards.
  4. EGHS does not assume any legal, financial, or organizational responsibility for the endorsed activity.
  5. EGHS does not provide CME accreditation or financial sponsorship unless explicitly stated in writing.
  6. The EGHS name and logo may only be used with prior written approval and solely in the format and context authorized by EGHS.
  7. Misuse of the EGHS endorsement or logo may result in immediate revocation of endorsement and possible legal action under applicable UAE laws.

7. Approval Acknowledgements

If approved, the requestor may:

  • Include the statement: “Endorsed by the Emirates Gastroenterology and Hepatology Society (EGHS)” in materials related to the activity.
  • Use the EGHS logo on event brochures, programs, and online platforms (subject to written approval).
  • Request listing of the endorsed activity on the EGHS website and/or calendar (at the discretion of EGHS).
  • Request session moderation and/or speaking engagement at the activity on the (at the discretion of EGHS).
